The Head of Government visited Semey Cement Plant LLP built in 1958.
Since 2016, the enterprise has been pursuing a full modernization strategy. A proprietary fleet of rail wagons has been acquired, new production lines increasing capacity have been launched, and environmental projects have been implemented, including the replacement of electrostatic precipitators on two kilns with modern, high-efficiency dust collection systems.
The plant’s capacity is 1.15 million tons of cement per year. Products are sold in the Kazakhstani market and exported abroad.
“We are focusing on the production of medium- and high-value-added products. At the same time, we must not forget about enterprises that supply us with essential construction materials such as cement, concrete, and reinforced concrete products, which are widely used in all projects. This year, the Government has set the target of building a record 18 million square meters of housing. This will inevitably increase demand for construction materials. Semey Cement Plant is one of the backbone enterprises and a socially responsible business providing support to the city. The Government will ensure all necessary support measures for such enterprises,” — emphasized Olzhas Bektenov.
